Arapaho is a superb, thornless blackberry that was released in 1993 from the University of Arkansas. Hardy, disease resistant, and produces very nice, sweet berries with small seeds, on erect, thornless canes.

It is one of the earliest to ripen of the thornless varieties, with good post-harvest potential.  Its early blooms make it susceptible to frost:  Arapaho is an excellent variety for growing in the southern U.S., and especially the deeper southern region(s). It quickly establishes a solid fruiting hedge, and with its erect, upright growth habit.  Perfect for home gardens, Arapaho does not require the support of a trellis.

Full-sun. Self-pollinating floricane.  Good resistance to both Double Bloom-Rosette (DB-R) and Orange Rust diseases.

Arapaho requires 400-500 chill hours to attain its maximum level of fruiting productivity.
